This game was created in under 3 days for the Mini Jam 148: Connections game jam with the theme "Connections" and limitation "You are immobile".
You're on Your Own is a challenging platformer that relies on the connection between the player and their yoyo to reach the end.
How is the theme incorporated into the game?
The player's essential connection to the yoyo serves as the primary mechanic for movement and progression, symbolizing the reliance on one another.
How is the limitation incorporated into the game?
Similarly to the answer above, the player is unable to move on their own, and they rely on their yoyo to move around and progress in the level.

With WinRAR, right click the "You're on Your Own Windows.zip" and click "Extract Here".
With window's build in, archive extract, right click the ZIP file and click the "Extract" button.
If you are lazy, you could also run it straight from the .ZIP but this is not recommended.

The concept is pretty cool, but ngl, this game is too difficult for me to finish. I know it's unfair to give a review, but I will say this, this game soundtrack is really catchy! The only thing I find frustrating about this game is that the yoyo charging and the distance I travel doesn't feel intuitive. Like a long press doesn't feel like it goes as far as I would like to. However, I get the feeling that this game is meant to be a challenge, and this game does that well. Sorry that I didn't play all the way through, but definitely there is some interesting mechanics going on here, especially with the utilization of a yoyo (I could never think of that).

I like the drawing style.However, the music does not represent the real gameplay and the gameplay has some bugs.
Anyways, congratulations for the game, it is very simple also I enjoyed it:)
The music is also not was I was originally expecting, but I think our composer did great job and I actually quite enjoy the vibe the music gives the game. :)
